Scaling theory of few-particle delocalization

چکیده

We develop a scaling theory of interaction-induced delocalization few-particle states in disordered quantum systems. In the absence interactions, all single-particle are localized $d<3$, while $d \geq 3$ there is critical disorder below which delocalized. hypothesize that such transition occurs for $n$-particle bound $d$ dimensions when $d+n\geq 4$. Exact calculations disorder-averaged Greens functions support our hypothesis. particular, we show $3$-particle $d=1$ with nearest-neighbor repulsion will delocalize $W_c \approx 1.4t$ and localization length exponent $\nu = 1.5 \pm 0.3$. The can be understood by means mapping onto non-interacting problem symplectic symmetry. discuss importance this result many-body delocalization, how few-body probed cold atom experiments.

Thermodynamics of Few-Particle Systems

We consider the wide class of few-particle systems that have some analog of the thermodynamic laws. These systems are characterized by the distributions that are determined by the Hamiltonian and satisfy the Liouville equation. Few-particle systems of this class are described by a non-holonomic constraint: the power of non-potential forces is directly proportional to the velocity of the element...

One-particle and few-particle billiards.

We study the dynamics of one-particle and few-particle billiard systems in containers of various shapes. In few-particle systems, the particles collide elastically both against the boundary and against each other. In the one-particle case, we investigate the formation and destruction of resonance islands in (generalized) mushroom billiards, which are a recently discovered class of Hamiltonian s...

Polarization modulated upconversion luminescence: single particle vs. few-particle aggregates.

Luminescence from crystals is often anisotropic and it leads to the polarization behavior of luminescence from single crystalline particles, as exemplified here with the upconversion luminescence from a single NaYF4 nanodisk. Nanodisk aggregates exhibit polarization dependent luminescence with different polarization degrees, which depends on the orientation and distribution of nanoparticles.
